ABOUT SCOTS COLLEGE :
In
1893 The Scots College was established at Brighton le Sands on the shores of
historic Botany Bay, to meet the needs of Scottish settlers. The initial
enrolment was 35 day boys and boarders. In 1895, the College moved to its
present Bellevue Hill site.
The Scots College is now a school that provides a high quality of education for
day students from Transition right through to Year 12, as well as for boarding
students from Year 6. Currently the College has 1600 students in attendance, of
which 235 are boarding students.
Scots has a Preparatory School campus and a Senior School campus, as well as a
unique country campus, "Glengarry", where boys from Year 9 spend 2 terms,
full-time, building their confidence, fitness and education.
The College has approximately 180 teachers and offers a wide and varied range of
academic, vocational, sporting and co-curricular subjects and activities.
Their graduating HSC students consistently perform very well and the camaraderie
and friendships that are built over the years of attendance at Scots stay with
the boys for their entire lives.
The Scots College Old Boys Union is a very active and important part of the
College community. The College devotes significant resources to maintaining
links with Old Boys, ensuring that they are informed of important news,
invitations to reunions and events and other College related initiatives.
