HOW TO
APPLY
After receiving your application, the college will write back to
you to let you know if it is able to offer you a place,
the amount of fees and how to pay and enroll.
Depending on which country you come from, once you have
enrolled and paid your fees, you may ask us for a letter
to support your application for a student visa or entry
clearance certificate.
If you need a student visa to stay in the UK, you must
study for at least 15 hours a week.
If you wish to join an EVSIS course and you are already in
the UK, you can come to the Advice and Guidance sessions
at the Montagu Road Centre:
Monday: 6.30 to 8pm
Tuesday: 2pm to 3.30pm
Wednesday: 10am to 11.30am
Please go to reception first so that you can be tested to
grade your level of English. You can then talk to a
teacher to discuss a suitable course, and you can enroll
immediately, provided there is a vacancy.
The academic year in the UK starts in September and has
three terms:
Autumn - September to December
Spring - January to March
Summer - April to June
You can usually join a course at any time of the year
although most EFL examinations take place in December and
June.

Most
of the courses outlined in this prospectus run from
September to June. You can start some courses in
January and April. EFL is offered in day or evening
classes, which you can join at any time. General study
programmes are flexible and you may study from three
to 16 hours a week, depending on the course. EVSIS
courses run for 10, 11 or 12 weeks. They are taught in
three-hour modules. A full EVSIS programme consists of
five three-hour modules and one hour's tutorial, 16
hours a week. The Easter School usually runs for four
weeks in April, and the Summer School for eight weeks
from June to August.
