Overview

Xavier University was the first Catholic institution of higher learning in the Northwest Territory, is the fourth oldest Jesuit University and sixth oldest Catholic university in the United States.Founded in 1831, Xavier University is a Jesuit, Catholic university in Cincinnati, Ohio. Its three colleges offer 81 undergraduate majors, 45 minors and 11 graduate programs to 6,966 total students, including 4,228 undergraduates. The main usp’s of this university are:

Location & Facilities

Cincinnati is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Hamilton County. The municipality is located north of the Ohio River at the Ohio-Kentucky border. The population within city limits was estimated to be 333,200 in 2009 making it the state's third-largest city.

 

 The campus covers approximately 160 acres (in the city of Cincinnati (North Avondale and Evanston, OH) and the City of Norwood, OH and features both residential and academic malls, flanked by the older west campus and by the expanding east campus. At the center of campus are the Gallagher Student Center and Bella mine Chapel. Bellarmine Chapel's roof is in the shape of a hyperbolic paraboloid, also known as a saddle roof that will not collapse, even if the Chapel walls were removed. The chapel is the home to the Bellarmine Catholic Parish in Cincinnati.

 

The Office of International Student Services assists international and other students in achieving their educational goals and provides opportunities for growth through cross-cultural interaction. The office provides orientation, adjustment services, information dissemination, programming activities, and serves as an advocate for international students as well as other students.
