Overview
The Troy University Foundation was established in 1968. It is a nonprofit, charitable organization qualified as an IRS Code Section 501©3 foundation. The foundation was created to attract private support for Troy University. The purposes of the Foundation are to promote, support, and carry out broader educational opportunities and provide services to the faculty, students, and alumni of Troy University.
The foundation seeks to gain meaningful financial support from private sources as an essential supplement to legislative funds, students’ fees and federal grants. It is committed to an active program to attract contributions from foundations, corporations, and individuals.

TROY is located in the southeastern region of Alabama known as the Wiregrass
Troy has computer labs, latest class room technology, libraries. The Student Services and Administration staff is responsible for many campus operations and activities. From enrollment to graduation, the staff seeks to provide for a successful college experience with all our students. Services may vary for each campus.

Scholarships
Prepared Student Scholarship (TOEFL / IELTS)
This scholarship is granted to all new international undergraduate students who score at least 6.5 on the IELTS or 550 on the paper based TOEFL (213 CBT or 80 IBT). The scholarship is $1,000 ($500 per semester) for the first two semesters in attendance at Troy University. Test scores must be received by the International Students Admissions Office before the students' arrival to Troy University to receive the scholarship. Students may substitute the TOEFL or IELTS scores with SAT scores (1000 with minimum with 500 on the critical reading part).
NOTE: IELTS student copy is acceptable. Official TOEFL/SAT scores must be forwarded by ETS/College Board using code for Troy University is 1738. This scholarship is awarded automatically to all international undergraduate students that submit scores as required before their enrollment.
International Cultural Exchange Scholarship
This scholarship is given to ten first time undergraduate students for one academic year. It is $1,000.00 per year ($500 per semester).
To qualify, you must fulfill all standard academic requirements, complete the application form and submit one-page (maximum length) written essay about what you would like to experience and/or accomplish while studying at Troy University. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The deadline for this scholarship is June 1st for the Fall Semester and October 15th for Spring Semester.
To maintain the scholarship, you must be enrolled full-time in academic courses (minimum 12 hours) for each semester, maintain a minimum of 2.75 out of 4.0 and be available to assist the International Office during various activities, such as cultural presentation of your home country.
International Elite Scholarships
Troy University offers a limited number of full and partial scholarships to students with exceptionally high academic achievements. These scholarships are only available to first year undergraduate (freshman) students entering Troy University with the intent to obtain at least a four year bachelor’s degree. Students must fulfill all regular undergraduate requirements as well as one of the two advanced requirements listed below:
The Millennium Scholar's Award
(Full scholarship: tuition, room and board.) Requirements are 31 ACT and/or 1380* SAT 1 and high school Grade Point Average (GPA) equal to an American 3.7 GPA (4.0 scale).
The Chancellor's Award
(Full tuition.) Requirements are 27 ACT and/or 1220* SAT 1 and high school Grade Point Average (GPA) equal to an American 3.5 GPA (4.0 scale).
Both scholarships may be renewed every year that the student attends Troy University and completes the following requirements: Students must maintain full-time status and accumulate a minimum GPA of 3.3 (The Millennium Scholar’s) or 3.0 (The Chancellor’s Award). * Calculation of SAT score: Current SAT test format consist of three separate tests each worth 800 points. Troy University will only calculate the score obtained on part 1 (critical reading) and part 2 (math). Your score from part 3 (writing) is not calculated towards the requirements listed above. The requirements must therefore be reached from maximum obtainable of 1600 points, where a minimum of 430 points must be obtained from part 1 (critical reading). Troy University’s institutional code for ACT is 0048 and the SAT / ETS is 1738.
Financial Documentations:
Students awarded either of the scholarships must be prepared and able to document the ability to sustain the remaining cost associated with studying at Troy University. For The Millennium Scholar's Award the remaining I-20 amount is about $2,000 per year. For The Chancellor's Award the remaining I-20 amount is approximately $8,000 per year. Additional fund for personal expenditures are additional. Please note that the bank statement must be on original letterhead issued by your bank. Copies or scanned statements of any kind are not acceptable.
Application Procedures (for Cultural and Elite Scholarships Only)
If you qualify for one of these scholarship you will need to submit the following documents to the International Recruitment Office: Completed International Student Scholarship Application Form; a scanned copy of your test scores (note that official test scores as listed above must be submitted); also submit a one-page (maximum length) written essay about what you would like to experience and/or accomplish while studying at Troy University; finally, submit your complete resume/cv. Deadline
Fully completed application form with all supporting material must be with the University by March 1st for fall semester and October 1st for spring semester.
Honors Student Scholarship
This scholarship is for international undergraduate students who have completed 30 semester hours of credit at Troy University and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. It is $4,000 per year ($2,000 each semester) and is applicable as long as the student keeps a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.
NOTE: Students enrolled and/or transferring from ESL / AEG are not eligible for the Prepared Student Scholarship, Cultural Scholarship or the Millennium and Chancellor’s Scholarships.
On-Campus Jobs
International students are permitted to work on-campus only for up to 20 hours per week, depending on job availability, their skills and English proficiency. Requirements for on-campus work positions: good academic standing (min 2.5 GPA) and full-time student status. Please note that on-campus jobs are limited in availability.
Graduate Assistantships of up to $7,500.00 per year are available through various departments. The assistantship generally waives the out-of-state tuition in addition
