The State University New York College at Oneonta (also known as the SUNY College at Oneonta, SUNY Oneonta, Oneonta State, and O-State) is a four-year liberal arts college in Oneonta, New York, United States, with approximately 5,800 students. The College offers many bachelor's degrees and a number of graduate degrees. Many academic programs at SUNY Oneonta hold additional national accreditations, including those in Education, Music Industry, Human Ecology, Dietetics, and Chemistry. In each of the past three years, SUNY Oneonta was ranked by US News in the top tier of “America’s Best Colleges,” selected by Kiplinger’s magazine as one of the “Kiplinger 100 Best Values in Public Colleges,” and named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. The mission of the college is “to foster the individual student’s intellectual, personal, and civic development.” A highly selective college, SUNY Oneonta is dedicated to providing an exceptional educational experience at an affordable cost. The teaching and learning process is the college’s highest priority, and faculty members actively work with students from the first year to the graduate level.

Oneonta is home to the Foothills Performing Arts Center and just 30 minutes to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. The campus is surrounded by 360 degree mountain views and is close to the Catskill Mountains. Upstate New York is a four-season state with mild summers, cool nights, and beautiful spring foliage. Fall is colorful and winters offer plenty of snow, ideal for snowboarding and skiing.

Scholarships
SUNY College at Oneonta has an array of scholarships based on academic merit, campus and community involvement, and/or financial need for eligible candidates. Scholarships may be offered by the institution, individual department, or outside organization. Scholarships are competitive and applicants are encouraged to apply early and to as many as possible.
The OAS International Scholarships are administered through the Office of International Education and based on high academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, community and/or campus involvement, and strong faculty recommendation. Awards range from $3,000 to $5,000 USD for the fall/spring academic year. Eligible candidates may apply after their first full-time semester at SUNY College at Oneonta.
Entering freshmen and entering transfer students with outstanding credentials are automatically reviewed for scholarship awards upon receipt of undergraduate applications. Entering students must demonstrate the same criteria as listed above. Returning students may apply for future OAS International Scholarships with a 3.0 GPA cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5 minimum.
