Overview

As the first Catholic college in Florida, Saint Leo opened its doors with the dedication of its main building on September 14, 1890. Today, Saint Leo University is one of the largest providers of higher education to military service members in the United States.

In 1994, the college began to offer the Master of Business Administration and conferred its first MBA degrees in 1996.  On August 24, 1999, Saint Leo College became Saint Leo University Today, Saint Leo University offers more than 40 academic degree and certificate programs to more than 15,000 students at its main campus, on military bases and community colleges located throughout seven states, and through the university’s Center for Online Learning. 

Saint Leo University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate, bachelor’s, masters and specialist degrees. Saint Leo University’s School of Business received initial accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) in September 1999.

Saint Leo University’s degree program in social work is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Social Work Education (BSW level). Saint Leo University’s undergraduate Sport Business program and MBA Sport Business Concentration are accredited by the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA).

Saint Leo offers an MBA program designed to assist students further their professional careers and goals; a Weekend MBA Program located on our University Campus in Saint Leo, Florida, Gwinnett County in Atlanta, and Chesapeake, Virginia.
