Location & Facilities
Over the past 7 years, JWU has invested more than $107 million in construction and renovation and plans to invest an additional $126 million through 2009 to continually improve our academic and student life facilities, so you’ll be ensured a world-class career education as well as a full university experience.
Our academic smart labs are outfitted with industry-standard software related to our majors. The campus also features street-front business partnerships, where students provide counseling, financial management, marketing, graphics and technology solutions to non-profit and small business owners.
With two gyms, 16 varsity sports for men and women, and 13 additional club and intramural sports, our athletic activities range from the serious to the recreational. And with more than 60 clubs and organizations, Greek life, student government and more, as well as events, movie nights and concerts hosted by the Office of Student Activities, there’s always something going on, both in and out of the classroom.
Twelve fully-equipped residence halls, as well as the new apartment-style, which features washers and dryers in each unit. From the all-natural, organic food stations at Marketplace to the fresh ground burgers and hand-cut fries at City Burger, the nine dining facilities on the Providence Campus offer a range of food options, including an on-campus Starbucks and a student-run bakery.
Providence, RI - A popular hub of student activity, and surrounded by a variety of shops, restaurants, cafes, music venues and a scenic riverfront. Four theatres are within walking distance, including the Providence Performing Arts Center, where Broadway shows, comedians and concerts are staged weekly.
North Miami, Florida - Located in the heart of South Florida between the fast-paced cities of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, North Miami is hemmed in by the beaches of Biscayne Bay. The area is a dynamic hub of sports, events, shopping, culture and restaurants that draws an energetic influx of world travellers, celebrities and outdoor enthusiasts.
Denver, Colorado - Rated "the most desirable big city to call home" by the Pew Research Center; "America's 2nd most popular city to line in" by a Harris Poll; a "top destination for recent college graduates" by CareerCast; and "the top city in America to live and work" by Forbes. The city boasts one of the country’s best climates, with an annual average of 300 days of sunshine, and also features the nation’s largest city park system with more than 650 miles of paved bike trails—not to mention the nearby resort towns of Aspen and Vail, two of the premier U.S. skiing destinations.
Charlotte, North Carolina - Situated in the center of the New South, Charlotte was recently named the most livable city in America by the U.S. Conference of Mayors, and one of the best places to live by Money magazine.
