Drury University

Overview

Drury University is a private liberal arts college in Springfield, Missouri. The university enrolls about 1,550 undergraduates, over 2,000 adult part-time undergraduates and around 400 graduate students in six master's programs. In total, its enrollment numbers at about 3,550 students. The university was founded in 1873.

 

Mission

Drury is an independent university, church-related, grounded in the liberal arts tradition, and committed to personalized education in a community of scholars who value the arts of teaching and learning. Education at Drury seeks:

  • to cultivate spiritual sensibilities and imaginative faculties as well as ethical insight and critical thought
  • to foster the integration of theoretical and practical knowledge
  • to liberate persons to participate responsibly in and contribute to a global community

Drury University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.

 

 


Location & Facilities

The Ozarks of southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas are known for their unique natural resources. Pristine streams, rivers and lakes offer amazing opportunities to canoe, fish and boat within minutes of campus.

 

The renowned Buffalo National River watershed with incredible hiking, fishing and breathtaking vistas can be accessed within two hours. Springfield, Mo., is the big, small town that has it all. A robust economy, health care, excellent schools, a safe and temperate climate, an active arts and entertainment community, and opportunities for local outdoor recreation are driving the community’s rapid growth. From the Springfield Cardinals AA baseball team to Jordan Valley Park and indoor skating facility, both within walking distance of campus, there is always something to do after class.

 

Campus living is a unique experience which puts you at the center of college action. Residential living requires an open mind and a willingness to understand the needs of others. There may be times when you will be living with people from a variety of backgrounds. Campus living provides many opportunities for learning more about one's self and developing friendships. Scholarships

Many types of scholarships and financial aid are available for Drury students. Financial aid forms can be obtained after January 1 from a high school counselor or the Drury financial aid office. An applicant should complete and mail these forms as soon as possible; the earlier the forms are processed, the more possibilities for financial assistance.
