University of Glamorgan

Overview

Here at the University of Glamorgan we always put our students first. Our teaching, learning and leisure facilities are all tailored to give you an extraordinary experience.  With more than 21,000 students from all over the world, flexible study options and teaching excellence in more than a dozen subjects, you can study in areas from drama and music to business, computer science and engineering.

Glamorgan has 200 courses available, outstanding graduate employment rates and is investing £130 million into its facilities, so there’s no better time to study at Glamorgan!

There are lots of reasons why so many international students choose Glamorgan; here are just a few:

  • Outstanding teaching quality with 12 excellence awards
  • 96% of our first degree graduates are in employment or further study within six months of graduating (HESA 2006/7 Performance Indicators)
  • Scholarships of up to £2,000* per year available to students from Pakistan
  • Highest success rate in the UK for graduate business start-ups (University of Glamorgan Commercial Services)
  • Low-cost of living (Push.co.uk Cost of Living Survey)

Location & Facilities

Glamorgan is based across three campuses: ATRiuM, a centre for creative and cultural industries, in Cardiff; and Treforest and Glyntaff, both near the busy market town of Pontypridd. Cardiff is young, lively and fun while Treforest is the traditional face of Wales - friendly people, green hills and country pubs. With its fantastic location, you can enjoy the buzz of Cardiff, the mountains of Brecon or the surfing off the Welsh coastline – it’s a great place to be a student!

Living on campus at Treforest means you can work and study in one place. Our students say they love the community atmosphere, and it’s great to be just 20 minutes from Cardiff.

Exciting developments are also happening at our Pontypridd campus. This year, our health, sport and science students are studying in brand-new facilities. We also have our own on campus aircraft hangar complete with aircraft so that our aerospace students can put their skills into practise.

Our flexible teaching and learning methods mean you can tailor your course to meet your interests and career aspirations.

Our Students’ Union will have a brand new home from September 2010. An ultra-modern building is being built on the Treforest campus and will be packed with facilities which can be enjoyed by all students.

3,200 international students from 60 different countries are already enjoying living and studying at Glamorgan – come and join them!
