Overview

Founded in 1998 at the Alba Centre, in Livingston, Scotland, iSLI was the world’s first centre of excellence to concentrate on postgraduate education and research in the methodology and applications of system-on-chip design, system level integration and related software and hardware technologies.

 

Mission: Our mission is to produce highly skilled design engineers and researchers to meet the needs of the rapidly changing global semiconductor industry.

iSLI is a partnership of the universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heriot-Watt and Strathclyde.  It is the world’s first centre of excellence for postgraduate education and research in the methodology and application of electronic system level integration and enabling technologies. 

iSLI draws on the expertise of the departments of computer science, electronic and electrical engineering and management studies.  Students benefit from a flexible approach to learning and are taught by lecturers and leading industrialists of the highest calibre.
