De Montfort University (DMU) is a British university situated in the multi-cultural city of Leicester. With a central location in the
UK, the university's modern, vibrant campus is an ideal base for international students to travel and explore the country while

DMU offers an outstanding range of courses designed to meet the needs of international students in today's global job market. The university's dynamic, forward-looking attitude has enabled DMU's five faculties to foster strong partnerships with local and international business, institutions and research bodies, meaning students are offered the best work experience placement with major UK companies such as the BBC, Orange and Jaguar Land Rover. Leicester Business School,based in the newly opened £35-million landmark Hugh Aston building for Business & Law, was ranked seventh for overall
student satisfaction in the Times Good University Guide 2010.
DMU was in the top three of all modern universities and ranked 57th out of 122 institutions in the Sunday Times University Guide 2009.
In 2005, DMU was awarded Centre for Excellence status for its distinguished reputation in Performing Arts.
. DMU's strong links with industry create highly employable graduates who work at reputable companies such as Audi, Sega, Next, Reebok, Dyson,
Habitat, H&M and Conrad Design. The university is an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Approved
Learning Partner with Gold Status. Many courses offer exemptions from a number of professional bodies, such as ACCA,
CIMA, CIM, IDM and CIPD.

Leicester is a vibrant, modern and diverse city located in the middle of the UK. Access to other parts of the UK is easy, as the city has excellent
transport links, Leicester to London by train takes just 75 minutes. Three billion pounds of regeneration has created a wide range of restaurants, designer shops, music venues, multiplex cinemas, theatres and much more.
Facilities
DMU has invested £186.5 million in the city campus since 2000.. The brand new Hugh Aston building,home to the faculty of Business and Law, not only has state-of-the-art facilities, but has transformed the campus with an
attractive open space for students, staff and the general public to meet. There are currently more than 2,000 computers available across the university and free internet access is available in faculty buildings, Student
Services and the 24-hour Kimberlin library,
Accommodation
All DMU accommodation is modern, safe and conveniently located on, or close to, the city campus. The Student Services
housing team work hard to try and secure all international students an offer of a place in student accommodation throughout
their academic course. DMU's Student Housing Office can provide lists of available property in the area and give advice on contracts
and tenancy agreements.

All students studying at De Montfort University (DMU) belong to one of the University's five Faculties. DMU schools and departments within each Faculty are responsible for devising and delivering a wide programme of courses, fostering links with industry and leading commercial activities in their field.
- The Art and Design Faculty offers creative DMU students bright studios, high-quality teaching and workshops with support from industry professionals such as Jimmy Choo.
- DMU's Business and Law Faculty has excellent rated teaching and superb links with industry and is rated seventh out of 110 institutions across the country by The Times Good University Guide 2010 for student satisfaction
- The Health and Life Sciences Faculty has courses for those who want to have an impact on daily life, improve lifestyles and make a difference to those around them.
- The Humanities Faculty offers a combination of traditional courses and new disciplines based within the innovative and creative learning environment of DMU.
- DMU students said the Technology Faculty met and exceeded expectations in the 2008 National Student survey. Students study a range of courses in Media, Engineering, Business Computing, Technical Computing, Games and Forensics.

Scholarships
De Montfort University's (DMU) Vice Chancellor is delighted to offer a £1,000 scholarship to Indian nationals -There is no application process for the scholarship, it is awarded solely on academic merit. If you achieve the required grades, you will be automatically awarded the scholarship. You do however need to apply for and be accepted on to a course at De Montfort University.
You must achieve grades in your current studies equivalent to the following 75%+ average at Standard XII for Bachelors entry or 60% or above at first degree for Masters entry. The £1,000 scholarships will be paid towards the full tuition fees of students from India who wish to study the following types of full-time courses at DMU:
The scholarship is deducted from the full tuition fee at the beginning of the first year of study. To be considered for a scholarship you must apply for your DMU course by 21 August 2010.
General Intake
Major intake is September 2010
ACCA / CIMA and Pre -masters GCIB in the faculty of Business and Law begin in Feb 2011
