The College

City College Plymouth is a well-established government-funded institution located on two main sites in the west of the city of Plymouth - a 15 minute walk from the city centre. With 800 staff and approximately 3,000 full-time students (as well as 23,000 who attend on a part-time basis) the College is one of the largest in the UK. There are 130 international students from 25 different countries.

• is a partner College of the University of Plymouth and works closely with the University to develop joint courses and to ensure progression for successful students
• has been named as a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in High Technology Engineering, Hospitality and Tourism and Marine Engineering
• has well-equipped libraries, networked computers, quiet study areas, language laboratories and excellent leisure, sporting and social facilities
• offers high levels of academic and pastoral care and support
• has a licence from the UK Border Agency to issue visa letters
• is a member of the British Council's Education UK Partnership and is also a member of UKCISA (Council for International Education) which provides advice and information to international students studying in the UK

• Has a population of 275,000 and is located in the beautiful south west of England, an area where many British people choose to take their holidays in the Summer. It is easy to reach from London, either by train (three hours), coach or by air from Gatwick Airport.
• Is a coastal city, surrounded by many miles of dramatic coastline and beaches. Dartmoor National Park is only 20 minutes from the city, offering opportunities for hiking, horseback riding and picnics with friends in the green countryside.
• Is famous for its maritime history and has one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world

 

Accomodation
City College Plymouth can help international students find suitable, affordable accommodation.

The College does not have any on campus accommodation but  can

arrange for you to stay either with a host family or in halls of residence

student accommodation owned by Unite. Unite is a large private provider

of modern, affordable student accommodation in the UK. All host families

and Unite properties in Plymouth have been visited by International Office

staff to ensure standards of safety and suitability.

 

Three different types of accommodation are available:

• living in a hall of residence
• homestay - living with a family
