Overview
In 2009/10 Barnet College is running a range of full and part-time higher education options – Foundation Degrees and Higher National Diploma (HND) courses as well as Initial Years of 4 year Honours Degrees. Our higher education courses are run in partnership with Middlesex University, the University of Hertfordshire, Sheffield Hallam University, London South bBank University and the Institute of Education, University of London.
Location and Facilities
Barnet College operates from four sites across the Borough of Barnet, and holds some classes at the artsdepot in North Finchley.
Barnet College offers you the opportunity to make the most of your abilities, whether you want to study academic subjects at A level or take on more practical learning for vocational qualifications.
The College has earned a reputation for advancing students and improving their potential A level grades and has achieved pass rates of 92 per cent.
Our range of vocational courses is impressive and long-established - ranging from Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing to Construction, Childcare, Engineering, Sport and Business. Almost 200 students aged 14-16 are also taking courses at the College as part of plans to extend vocational learning opportunities.

Barnet College offers some of the best facilities for both learning and recreation
Students studying on vocational courses benefit from recently refurbished hairdressing media make-up salons, beauty therapy suites, industry standard construction site, kitchens and a fully operational training restaurant. While sports students learn in a fully equipped cardio vascular gym and high standard sports therapy suites.

Higher National Diplomas
Higher National Diplomas are widely-recognised qualifications which are more practical in content than the traditional university degree – although they also require academic study. They provide the chance to progress to university degree programmes and usually involve two years’ of full-time study.
