Overview

In a realignment of its activities, UBFS concentrated all its master and bachelor courses at its campus in Geneva as from January 2009, and discontinued its activities at Wettingen.

The UBFS campus in Geneva is located at avenue Blanc 53, 1202 Geneva, and is operated in close collaboration with and under the guidance of the Business & Management University Geneva (BMU). BMU is one of the leading private universities in Geneva. Credits, grades and degrees earned at UBFS Wettingen continue to be valid and are fully recognized by UBFS and BMU Geneva. UBFS Wettingen is part of the 1928 established Benedict education group, who runs schools in Bern, Luzern, St Gallen and Zürich for over 15,000 full and part time students.

As a private institution, the BMSW is formed and chartered under Swiss law.
The BMSW is recognized by the Migration Office of the Canton of Aargau, which is responsible for the issuance of study and residency visas in regard to undergraduate, graduate and special programs within its jurisdiction.

One of the great benefits of studying at BMSW, besides studying our contemporary programs, is the opportunity for qualified students to perform paid work experience, available in the local service industry, preparing them with the diligence and necessity to perform in their working life, after graduation.

It emphasizes on both academic and professional development learning, incorporating the international approach to management with the “BMSW Professional Preparation” program, which is based on Swiss work ethics and industry expectations from employees and managers. The development of broad thinking skills, understanding of contemporary management theory and the integration of theory and practice are a pre-requisite for success in all programs. BMSW aim for educational excellence by: Providing business management core competencies in the first year and increasing specialization in the second and third year.

Wettingen (Swiss German: Wettige) is a residential community in the district of Baden in the Swiss canton of Aargau.

The Business Management School Wettingen (BMSW), is located beside the beautiful river Limmat in the town of Wettingen in Switzerland, the country of choice for Business & Management Education. It is only 20km from Zürich, the largest city of Switzerland. The state of the art equipped school, is located in a historical 18th century industrial revolution building complex, in the old monastery district, which today is also housing many high tech & services companies as well as other education organizations and some fine food establishments. The area is served well with public transport and is located only minutes from the motorway.

The Campus Life Program, which is responsible for the wellbeing of students on campus, helps our students to build a home away from home. The Campus Life Program is responsible for the organization of clubs, sporting events, and special interest groups. Students can take part in the Martial Arts Club, the Theatre Club, and the Culture Club, to name a few. The Campus Life Program also assists the Student Editorial Board, which publishes the student newsletter.

The BMSW offers students a state-of-the-art infrastructure. In addition to classroom instruction, students have the opportunity to utilize the many multimedia applications that can be used to enhance their learning experience at the BMSW, and the many modern communication mediums that promote the exchange of knowledge and information between professors and students. Students can also take advantage of the many on-campus services such as the wireless LAN and ADSL internet. Furthermore, students can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Old Spinning Mill Study Center, which contains study rooms that are outfitted with various technological equipment, and presentation media.

English Foundation Modules

For students who have not attained the necessary English requirements we offer three English foundation modules on campus. In each five-weeks module students will receive 25 hours per week of intensive academic English. The classes are open to students with an IELTS of 5.0 band. Students who have successfully completed the BMSW English Foundation Modules are exempted from taking IELTS test and will be admitted directly to BMSW academic programs.

Entry Requirements

Diploma Entry Requirements

18 years of age with successfully completed High School.
Students, whose mother tongue is other than English, must provide an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent certificate in order to receive an offer by the school.

Bachelor Degree Entry Requirements

20 years of age with successfully completed Diploma program from BMSW.
Students, whose mother tongue is other than English, must provide an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent official certificate in order to receive an offer by the school.

Bachelor Degree Entry Requirements (direct entry)

20 years of age with successfully completed Diploma of a by BMSW accepted or articulated program.
Students, whose mother tongue is other than English, must provide an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent official certificate in order to receive an offer by the school.

MBA*/MBM Degree Entry Requirements

22 years of age with successfully completed undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
Students, whose mother tongue is other than English, must provide an IELTS 6.5 or equivalent certificate in order to receive an offer by the school.

* MBA degree will awarded to candidates who can show at least 3 years qualified management working experience.
