Overview
The Swiss College of Hospitality Management is Switzerland’s first Boutique Hotel School conceptualized and developed to prepare students for a successful hospitality career, according to the standards of international luxury boutique hotels and resorts. It is a private college, established on 1st January, 2010. The school’s objective is to combine the state of the art fundamentals of Swiss hospitality operations within a real hospitality environment, with direct exposure to professional hoteliers.
SHML is unique in Switzerland as it allows students to either do their internships in Switzerland or with one of our international hotel partner companies anywhere in the world where they operate hotels or resorts. The SHML students also have the opportunity of being sponsored by these companies to start their careers as trainee executive managers.
Location & Facilities
The campus of the Swiss College of Hospitality Management is situated in the centre of the alpine village of Lenk and is a fully operational star rated hotel that has been recently been renovated. Lenk is a Swiss holiday resort, located in Bern, the Bernese Oberland. Providing a perfect, safe and beautiful student village, Lenk offers a wide range of activities in extraordinary surroundings.
The student’s accommodation consists of rooms that are either for single or double occupancy. They have their own bathrooms with a bath and shower or showers, hair dryers, cupboards and natural lighting with heating. The bedrooms include a flat screen TV, new beds, carpeting, desks and good lighting. Public facilities available include a library, lounge with a fire place, bar and 2 restaurants as well as a gym, an outdoor swimming pool, gardens and in-house laundry.

Diploma Programs
Diploma in Hotel Operations:
The Diploma in Hotel Operations programme is designed for students whose main aim is fast track access to first employment, with a baggage of hospitality knowledge that cover the entire hotel operation, including guest contact, supervisory activities, management theories and state of the art applications.
Associate Degree in Hotel Management (AHM):
The Associate Degree in Hotel Management programme is designed as the Swiss College of Hospitality Management's “BLUE RIBBON” course program. It allows students to progress toward the Bachelor degree at a normal pace, with one additional year to master the entire range of hospitality applications.
Higher Diploma in Hotel Management (Associate Degree):
The Higher Diploma in Hotel Management (Associate Degree) is designed for students committed to qualifying and completing a Bachelor Degree within 3 years. It consists of two very demanding years at Lenk that requires focus and dedication to studies and additional applications.
Bachelor Degree
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Strategic Hospitality Management:
The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Strategic Hospitality Management is designed as a part of the Higher Diploma of Hotel Management. The programme is a top up- i.e. it functions as the last year of the Bachelor Degree. It is part of SHML's progresson towards a Master Degree at the University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, England.
Master Degree
Post Graduate Diploma in International Hotel Management:
The Post Graduate Diploma in International Hotel Management programme is characterized by content that is entirely dedicated to hospitality. This includes management theory, case studies, supporting data and software, in order to ensure continuous focus and best possible results for all participants.

Scholarships
For the intakes 2010 and March 2011 SHML offers a 20% scholarship on Net Tuition Fee only, for every student starting at SHML.
As per August 2011 intakes SHML offers the following scholarships scheme:
5% For IELTS 6 with complete test results
5% For at least 6 months practical experience in hospitality in an SHML approved hotel
5% A score of 85% for the high school diploma
5% A student’s excellent application file including interview performance
Students may keep the same level of scholarship for the following semester if they reach a score of 85% during the past semester.
Students who wish to keep the scholarship for the whole duration of the education may do so by settling the semester fee at once in advance.
Intake
There are two major intakes for the courses. The intakes are August and March.
