Waikato Institute of Technology

Overview

As one of the largest Institutes of Technology in NZ, Wintec is focussed on providing international students with the necessary support for a positive study experience.
Wintec is located in Hamilton, the fourth largest city - in the heart of the North Island and convenient to major tourist attractions.

Wintec offers programmes from Foundation to Post Graduate (Masters) and provides practical employment related education and training. Semester one begins in February, with the second semester programmes beginning in July and some extra intakes for graduate studies in April and October. Fees for international students range from $15,000 to $18,000 per year.

Wintec can arrange accommodation in one of two hostels or in a home stay environment - fees range from $95 per week for a twin share hostel room to $210 per week for home stay including all meals. Students can also choose to go 'flatting' which is a cheaper option.

Wintec's programmes and qualifications are nationally and internationally recognised and our applied degrees are of equal status to university qualifications. Academic entry requirement differs from programme to programme and can be found in detail on our website at www.wintec.ac.nz Wintec requires a minimum of 6.0 bands IELTS with no less than 5.5 in the written band and some programmes require higher scores.
Wintec offers all the help and support you need to fully settle into your learning and the wider community. We offer many opportunities for you to join in various activities, clubs, sporting and cultural events whilst experiencing some Kiwi life. You will find studying at Wintec will offer you the opportunity to succeed as we are award winning for our links to industry and relevant learning.
