Overview
Founded in 1970, TRU has experienced an evolution from its initial days as a community college known as Cariboo College to today where students have the choice of Bachelor's Degrees and three Master's Degrees. Both AWCP 170 and AWCP 171 have been granted accreditation at Thompson Rivers University.
This means that any student attending TRU can take either of these courses and earn three college credits. They have around 1300 international students on campus and over 700 oversees students at their offshore programs in China, Thailand, India, Singapore and Malaysia.
TRU knows a central approach in internationalision realized by TRU World. Their unique selling point is the excellent services they provide to their international students.
Location & Facilities
Thompson Rivers University is a university located in Kamloops, While the main campus is located in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, there is a second campus in Williams Lake. The Thompson Rivers University, Residence & Conference Centre is located on the South West side of the city overlooking the beautiful Thompson Rivers. The Residence is conveniently close to shopping centers, other amenities, and facilities such as the newly renovated and expanded Canada Games Aquatic Centre and McArthur Island Park.

Scholarships
TRU offers a comprehensive range of programs to assist students in locating resources to cover basic educational costs and to recognize academic excellence. All of these programs are administered through the Financial Aid & Awards Office.
Need-based programs include some awards, bursaries, grants and government student assistance programs. Achievement awards comprise of scholarships and prizes. The Financial Aid & Awards Office can advise on application processes for all of these programs and will also assist students in reviewing government student aid decisions.
The Financial Aid & Awards office also offers personal financial planning/budgeting assistance to students who are experiencing difficulty in managing their money. There are 3 main intakes round the year. Fall, winter and summer. And the deadlines would be Fall- May 31, Winter- Sep 15, and Summer- Feb15.
