Overview
North Island College is a community college opened in 1975. It has four campuses and four centres. NIC serves 155,000 people over 80,000 square kilometers on northern Vancouver Island.
Mission of North Island College is committed to meeting the education and training needs of adults within its service region by: providing high quality, affordable higher education and skills training, collaborating with our partners to create pathways to learning, and empowering individuals to achieve their full potential. NIC offers more than 900 courses and 70 credit programs.
Location & Facilities
North Island College International students study at 3 campuses (namely Comox Valley, Port Alberni, or Campbell River) located on central Vancouver Island, a popular tourist destination with access to beaches, mountains, wilderness areas and lively, friendly communities.
The Comox Valley is centrally located on Vancouver Island, providing lots of opportunity to visit the Island's most famous locations like Long Beach in Pacific Rim National Park, the City of Victoria, or whale watching on the Strait of Georgia. It offers a moderate climate.

Scholarships
North Island College Foundation scholarship and bursary program, offers the Foundation Awards of more than $200,000 to students requiring financial assistance as well as recognizes students who achieve academic excellence & deadline for the same is 30th April of every year.
Every academic year, 2 prestigious Medal Awards are given to exceptional NIC students with the highest academic standing in a University Studies program. No application is required for the same.
The Lieutenant-Governor’s Silver Medal is awarded to students in vocational or career programs less than 2 years long who have excelled in their studies and have contributed in a positive way to the life of the college or of the community & deadline for the same is 15th April of every year.
