Overview

Stott's Colleges was established in 1883 and is one of the oldest private colleges in Australia. In its 126 years, Stott's has been and educational landmark, providing quality education to thousands of students. Stott's has developed into a multidimensional education institution. From its origins as a certificate provider of business and administration courses, Stott's first offered the VCE and VCAL in 2001 and it quickly grew to become the successful program that it is today. Stott's is one of very few private colleges to gain Higher Education accreditation to offer a Bachelor of Business. Drawing on its expertise, Stott's commenced Diploma level studies in Community Welfare and has recently started offering Certificate and Diploma programs in Hospitality. Stott's has developed a strong reputation for providing dynamic and innovative courses that are developed in consultation with industry. This ensures that students gain skills that are in high demand from industry. Complimenting this, is Stott's commitment to its students to provide excellent facilities, small class sizes and; friendly and personalized service.

HOMESTAY & GUARDIANSHIP SERVICES:-


Stott’s Colleges uses the Home stay program provided by Melbourne Language Centre (’MLC’) and guardianship services provided by Guardianship Australia.Stott’s Colleges authorizes the coordinator of MLC Home stay program to approve and monitor Home stay arrangements for international students under the age of 18. MLC can also arrange Home stay and provide accommodation advice for Stott’s Colleges’ students over 18 years old upon request. MLC Home stay program has robust procedures for the selection and monitoring of Home stay careers and Home stay residences, including, but not limited to: Australian Police vetting of all persons aged 18 or over resident in the household; assessment of the suitability of Home stay and residential facilities; and ongoing assessment to ensure the Home stay provides a safe physical and emotional environment. MLC Home stay coordinator meets with students in home stay accommodation at regular intervals to ensure that the accommodation remains suitable. MLC Home stay program also provides an Airport ‘meet and greet’ service with experienced MLC Airport Representatives.


EMERGENCY SERVICES :-


Guardianship Australia provides 24-hour on-call “Care Team” assistance, which includes emergency first aid treatment and first language counseling. Guardianship Australia contacts the parents of each international student and establishes communication arrangements with parents that can be used in the event of any emergency. If an international student who is under 18 and chooses not to use Stott’s Colleges’ preferred Guardianship Australia Services, the student must stay either with MLC Home stay; or an accommodation nominated by the student’s parent(s) and checked and approved by the MLC Home stay Coordinator, the student’s parent(s) also need to nominate a responsible adult for the student while she / he is in Australia, and that the details of the responsible adult must be provide to the Stott’s Colleges’ registrar together with the following documents: 1) certified copies of passport or other valid identification documents; 2) police check; 3) written and signed authorization from the student’s parent(s).
