Overview

Phoenix academy is a private, english language training institution located in perth, western australia. The academy was set up in 1989 and has campuses in west perth and perth beach (fremantle). Phoenix specialises in a range of education training and education services including teaching intensive general and academic english (elicos) to over 2,000 international students every year. The academy conducts foundation studies program, english support programs, and english as a second language teacher training courses.


Phoenix academy students come from over 30 countries. The academy population is consistently around 400/500 students across two campuses.

Homestay
Get the most out of your travel and study experience by living with an australian family and experiencing the lifestyle first hand.

  • Friendly homestay families with comfortable, clean and spacious homes.
  • Accommodation located no more than 30 - 40 minutes travel time by public transport from the academy.
  • Two meals per day (breakfast and dinner) during the week and three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) on weekends.


Campus student residence - beatty lodge
The academy’s on-campus accommodation facility is a convenient and cost effective accommodation option offering:

  • 70-bed hostel, located on the perth campus.

Arrival and orientation

All students participate in a comprehensive orientation program on their first day at the academy which includes:

Cost of living . . . . . .
Global comparisons in 144 cities have found perth to be substantially less expensive than all major american, british and canadian cities and well below the costs of other australian cities. Living costs have been calculated at around $250 to $280 aud per week for international students in perth, depending on individual circumstances and accommodation preferences. This is well below the australian average of $320 aud per week - and significantly lower than the living costs in sydney and melbourne.

 

Climate . . . . . .

This course is designed for students who do not meet the English entry requirements for university at either undergraduate or postgraduate level.
