What should I do if I am confused about what course to select?

The world is filled with various career choices ranging from medicine to mass communications, engineering to event management, marine biology to information technology. The confusion that students face over which career to pick is understandable. A large number of students continue choose a career based merely on the fact that their friends are doing the same thing or because their parents told them to do so. This, however, may not be the best way to go about it. We at Edwise understand the dilemma of the students face while choosing the pathways for higher education. To cater to such needs, Edwise has designed the Academic Pathway Planning Program. It helps the student to get the right information in a structured way, so that the student can use the information promptly, enabling him/her to choose the best career course.

What is the ideal time to start my application process?

Time taken for admission varies from university to university. Some universities are fast in taking decision and some takes time. However as a registered student of student of Edwise, you will have your reply in typically half the time normally taken. However, if you are too late in applying for the semester you desire, do not worry. EDWISE will double speed your application.Edwise assists students from as early as 18 months before start date to about 2 weeks before start date depending on the country & institution.

With so many universities courses available how can I select the most appropriate course for me?

Since the number of Universities/Institutions and the courses are very vast its better to take the help of an organization with professionally trained persons to guide. Edwise can help you for the same and help you to find out the courses and institutions of your choice. Edwise has specialist counsellors for each country and when you visit us we encourage to meet as many of these specialist counsellors as you wish. They explain the intricacies of each country institution & course thus empowering you to make a decision. All this is for free.

Which are the entrance exams that are required?

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is required as proof of English Proficiency in majority of the countries. There are a few other standardized tests that an applicant needs to take which depend upon the institute & country they choose. Some Institutions in US, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore,France require that their applicants take one or more standardized tests. These tests include the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), GRE (Graduate Record Examination) and GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), TOFEL (Test of English as Foreign Language). The tests required varies from University. Different countries have different entrance exam requirements. It is ideal to ask your Edwise Counsellor what tests you should do. What about the expenses for my education abroad?

You can easily achieve your dream of STUDYING BROAD even if you have limited funds. Educational Loans can be an important part of your overall funding strategy. Are there any Scholarships available?

Yes, there are number of scholarships available. Besides part time jobs and coop experience scholarships and financial aid are the best ways of financing your education. How Important is it that I pay a deposit?

It is important that you pay a deposit, as most Universities/Institutions require the students to pay part of the tuition fees in advance in order to reserve a place for them in the university. We highly recommend that all students make a deposit payment as it helps in making the visa process more easier.

What are the order expenses in addition to my Fees?

In addition to your Fees the other expenses will include Room & Boarding charges, Personal Expenses (clothes,Laundry, Entertainment), Books & Supplies, Transportation (Daily Travel, Trips home per year), Airfare.

What are the Visa Requirements & Procedures for Application?

Can I apply to more than 1 university in more than 1 country?

Many of our students are interested in applying for US Universities, as well as Universities in Australia or UK, or visa versa. With EDWISE, you can do that conveniently. We counsel for countries like USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Switzerland, Ireland, France and New Zealand. Each specialist counsellor will assist you independently & for no charges.

How do I Register myself with Edwise?

To make it convenient for our students there are 5 ways you can register with us:-

  2. You can call our office to take an appointment & then come & meet the counselors.
  3. You can also register on the website.
  4. You can mail on the email address mentioned.

Will I get admission if I have very poor grades in my high school or college / university?

EDWISE can help you with your admissions even if you have very poor grades during your study.

There are several good universities abroad and they understand that students sometimes lose focus and do not concentrate on their studies may be because they are unwell or may be due to family circumstances etc. They even understand the Indian academic system as they are in close co-ordination with us. These universities will be ready to give you a second change. So, do not worry. Just contact us. We can surely help you find the right match for you. You can also get an opportunity to meet with university representatives at our offices & these personal interview meetings assist in evaluating your application for the course of your choice.

Can I work while studying?

Most countries allow students to work 20 hours a week off-campus during the term and full-time during the vacation period. The United States allows you to work 20 hours a week, but only on-campus. Contact your Edwise counselor or visit the country section on our website for more information.

How about the work permit after completion of course abroad?

It depends on the country chosen as each country has different rules that permit students to take different durations of work experience after completion of the course. You can also refer to each country section on our site to get the updated information.

Should I go abroad for UG Program?

You should go abroad for a UG program because it will help you broaden your horizon. You will get the opportunity to explore the world, know different cultures travel & have fun. Also it may be a little difficult to find the right career opportunity for you desired career in India & therefore you may consider going for a UG program.

Is the counselling truly free at Edwise?

Edwise officially represents several institutions worldwide. It is due to this that we treat ourselves as the extension arm of an institutions international recruiting office. In light of this our management pioneered the "FREE COUNSELLING SERVICES" concept. We will charge only fees that are application fees if and when applicable and may charge a courier fee where applicable. No international service/Co. Fees are charged throughout the visa process for any student enrolling at an institution represented by Edwise.

Please refer to FAQ number 17. However incase you wish to apply to a university in USA or CANADA that Edwise doesn't represent then we charge for UK and NZ also if we do not represent the university/ institute.

There is no Edwise office in my city?

If there Is no Edwise office in your vicinity then do not worry you may also apply via email to our specialized cell & we will contact you immediately.

How are Edwise Counsellors trained?

The Edwise counsellors have been trained by international experts to guide students professionally in selecting the right course at the ideal university. Many of our counsellors have worked & studied abroad. Also we have university delegates who regularly visit are offices for interviews & training purposes.

What about Visa Counselling Charges?

Edwise provides guidance to students with regards to Visa Application & procedures absolutely free of Cost, provided the student is going to the College/ University represented by Edwise.

If a student is going to any university/College which is not represented by Edwise, then there are Visa Consultation Fees which would include following services:

  • Helping in filling up the Visa Application forms
  • Arranging and verifying the documents in sets
  • Taking Mock Interviews.
